Alex Filian

Head of Player Development

Bio:

Alex was born into a soccer family. His father Joe Filian is a Illinois soccer hall of fame inductee, former New York Cosmos, and Memphis Rouges NASL player.

He begin playing at a young age and at 16 years old he signed for Nomads academy in San Diego, playing in the US Soccer Development Academy. After two seasons there, he took a gap year and tried playing professionally overseas, but In the end played one more season in the USSDA with Colorado Rapids MLS u19 team.

Following his season with the Colorado Rapids, Alex skipped the college path and went overseas to play abroad in Germany. After playing 5th tier In Germany, Alex returned home during Covid.

After Covid Alex joined NPSL side Milwaukee Torrent where he spent two seasons.

After his 2nd season in Milwaukee, Alex had a successful Trial in Mexico, with Inter Playa, where he signed his first professional contract.

After his season in Mexico he returned back to the US and played two more professional seasons in the USA 3rd tier NISA with LA Force and Georgia FC. 

Alex also played a professional indoor season with PAO Chicago in the MLIS indoor league.

Alex most recently got called up to represent his country - the United States of America - in the first ever 7v7 nations league tournament.
